Irradiation is NOT a Health Hazard

Irradiation is permitted under EU law for certain foods which spoil quickly, such as dried herbs, spices, fruits and vegetables. Clear labelling is a requirement for all foods, which are permitted to be irradiated. As part of an EU Survey, to check labelling of such irradiated foods, the Food Safety Authority of Ireland have discovered that a small number of herbal products do not have correct labelling.

We do not stock any of the affected products.(> see full list)
Our brands (Bioforce, Quest, etc.) do not use irradiated herbal ingredients as a matter of policy.

Product warning

I have been assured by QUEST and LIFEPLAN their products do NOT contain any ingredients manufactured by PAN Pharmaceuticals in Sydney.

Chelidonium

In the light of the findings of hepatotoxicity in products for internal use, containing Chelidonium Majus (Celandine), the IMB have concluded that there is a negative benefit-risk ratio for oral preparation containing this herb. A voluntary withdrawal has been agreed by the relevant industry organisations. Preparations containing the herb for external use are considered safe.
