Allium Sativum aka Garlic.
USES: high cholesterol, respiratory tract infections, sinusitis and catarrh.
DESCRIPTION: Garlic is said to be the world’s oldest medicine and is still one of the best and most popular herbal remedies. Remains of garlic have been found in caves inhabited 10,000 years ago. A Sumerian clay tablet dating from 3,000 BC records the first garlic prescription.
HOW IT WORKS: It is now recognised that it is the ratio of the various types of cholesterol and fats in the blood, which is more relevant than the totals measured. Garlic reduces the level of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) whilst increasing the levels of high-density lipoproteins (HDL). It has been suggested that an increase in HDL may enhance the removal of cholesterol.
Garlic has also a mild action in lowering blood pressure and is well known for its antibiotic properties, which is very useful for sinusitis, catarrh and respiratory tract infections, like coughs and head colds.
Kyolic Garlic is an organic and absolute odourless form of Garlic.
