> Slow Food® Ireland
a member of the International Slow Food movement with 83,000 members in 107 countries worldwide, wishes to state its opposition to the granting of licenses by the Environmental Protection Agency of genetically modified trials in Ireland.

“The reality is, that at this point in time no one, be they for or against, can actually predict for sure what the long-term effects of eating foods containing GMOs will be on humans or animals. The future of Ireland – the food island depends on producing top quality safe food. Ireland the GM food island does not have the same appeal or cachet.”– Darina Allen, Chair Slow Food Ireland.
